How Your AI Tool Connects to RentBuddy Next
RentBuddy brings everything related to rentals and events together in one work environment. From projects, quotes, and equipment planning to crew, logistics, and invoicing. With the RentBuddy MCP, we are now taking the next step: RentBuddy Next already features a built-in AI assistant as AI-BUDDY, but you also have the option to connect your own favorite AI tool to your RentBuddy environment via the RentBuddy MCP.
Via MCP, AI assistants can securely connect to RentBuddy and work with the information and capabilities available within your environment. This allows you to simply ask questions such as “Which projects are scheduled for next month?” , “Which project managers are still available this coming weekend?” , or “How many DiGiCo SD10s do we still have available?” — without having to search through various screens and overviews yourself first.
But MCP goes beyond simply retrieving information. It forms the link between RentBuddy and a new generation of AI applications that can support you with daily tasks, analyses, and ultimately complete workflows. Not by replacing RentBuddy, but by making it much easier to work with your own business information.
We do not want to devise this development behind closed doors. We discover which applications are truly valuable primarily by making MCP available and experiencing, together with you as end users, where it makes a difference in daily practice.
Therefore, RentBuddy MCP is immediately available in the first beta of RentBuddy Next.

ChatGPT and RentBuddy MCP in practice
To demonstrate that this is not theory but actual practice, we show you two examples below of how we have integrated ChatGPT with the RentBuddy MCP and how we are training AI to extract more and more information from the system by asking increasingly more questions. Naturally, the integration looks at the user, and information is not provided if your query does not have access to the requested information. If you, as a planner, ask for employee availability, you are entitled to receive it. If you ask for revenue and costs and do not have access to the financial section, the MCP will block this as well.
However, you shouldn't underestimate what you are doing. After all, you are linking your business data to AI, and incorrect answers can result from that. Therefore, always carefully check the answer to your questions. Furthermore, the use, responsibility, and interpretation of that outcome rest with you as the end user. In other words, the AI tool can provide you with incorrect information or misrepresent matters. It is therefore not a tool you can simply trust blindly, but it certainly helps you make your processes faster and more efficient. And even better: wherever you are, you can receive immediate answers to important questions remotely.
The most common AI tools are Claude and ChatGPT. RentBuddy MCP therefore works with the most important tools. Connecting your RentBuddy Next work environment takes only five minutes, and you can just as easily disconnect your employees from the RentBuddy MCP server with the push of a button. However, it is necessary to have administrator rights to make the connection.
Clear Questions and Management Reports
Naturally, we are not sitting still. We will also continue to train and improve the MCP. It will soon become clear which questions remain unanswered.
What we have discovered is that while we can keep saying that RentBuddy stores and has all data available down to the smallest detail, it is even better to see in the video below that ChatGPT compliments RentBuddy on how much information is already available, and yet the MCP is not yet fully trained. The more you ask, the more you correct and explain, the better information he will return.
